flashy family of american kestrels

I spotted two American Kestrels on a billboard last month – and when I went to check on them, two had become five. The babies are grown but still have tiny tufts of white fluff on their heads. It was especially cool to see dad catching a mouse and mom sharing her kill with a young male:

Thank You – I was lucky to pass by these kestrels while on my bike last summer. Here is a webcam of a kestrel next box in Boise, ID: http://kestrel.peregrinefund.org

These are great shots of birds that most people never see. Thanks so much for sharing. They’re such beautiful birds.
