Some days I go looking for raptors and find nothing at all… other days I get lucky and find owls, eagles, a merlin, and more. These pictures were all taken yesterday in Providence – a very lucky day. My Eastern Screech Owl pictures were featured in the Daily Mail UK and Cute Overload!

Great photos Peter and my favorite is the male and female (obviously bonded) pair of Red Tails. Baby RT’s are soon on their way:)
Both of the screech owls are fabulous in their own way. The red morph has the sunlight on it, and the tufts are out unlike when we saw it on Saturday. And I really like the gray morph image showing a bit of its surroundings.
Beautiful photos! I especially love the merlin — we actually had one land on our deck railing in the middle of suburban Washington DC some years ago. I was so shocked I didn’t even try to take a photo, just called my husband and we both stood there with our jaws dropped. It’s so wonderful to see so many birds these days — thanks for your stunning photography!
Thank you very much, Laura

I’m glad you like them, Janis. Thank you for taking the time to comment. :)
