Red-tailed Hawks were constructing a nest on the Rhode Island State House, but seem to have abandoned it now. These hawks can build a few nests before choosing which one to use for the season.

I see this pair in action at the State House constantly. Great picture of them with Independent Man
Thank You, Bill, I appreciate it.
Absolutely beautiful. Sad, that long ago, they ruled the trees. Now, they nest wherever they can.
Hi I just read an article about your website and thought you might want to visit Slater Park in Pawtucket. There is a pair of red tailed hawks in the park often seen in the area between the pond near the boathouse and the wetland friendship gardens. Thursday Aug. 2 I saw one on the ground gnawing on his prey while the second one squeaked. In a nearby tree waiting for a turn to dine. I took a couple of photos with my cell phone camera.
Thanks for the tip, Patti, I appreciate it.
Could you tell me, who is represented in the likeness of the statue?
Yep, that is The Independent Man
