In addition to the annual swan nest in downtown Providence, there is often a Great Blue Heron at this location. I’m not sure why – I rarely see any fish in the shallow canal. Today the female swan was keeping her eggs warm and the male was nearby.

Peter – bunch of heron nests (rookery?) right behind Home Depot in Seekonk, now that the leaves are gone you can see how many and how big they are! Also rumors of an owl nest but never saw that. Apparently the herons make quite a racket at some point but I could never pin down the time from the employees. Thought maybe sundown but no luck when we went a few times.
